Who can you learn from to help you achieve your goals?

A few weeks ago I was watching ‘Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Back’ and it reminded me of an important lesson many of us can learn from. In the movie the young Luke Skywalker had a goal to be a Jedi, so he got in his space ship and flew to learn from Yoda. Yoda was clearly a master and Young Skywalker wanted to learn from him.

Now many of you probably don’t have a goal to be a Jedi warrior but what if you want to run your own business, learn a new language or write a best selling book. Who can you learn from?

This week I went to a conference with a group of extraordinary people with the goal of being best selling authors. The big draw of the conference was the opportunity to learn from Jack Canfield the co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul. He is certainly the master of selling books having sold more than 100 million books.

Like Luke Skywalker every person in that room made the decision to learn from one of the Masters.

Now consider your own personal goals. Is there a master you can learn from?

"If you're passionate about what it is you do, then you're going to be looking for everything you can to get better at it."- Jack Canfield
