Have you made any new friends lately?

Yesterday I got a note from a friend telling me how excited her 6-year-old daughter was after meeting a new friend at school. "I made a new friend today! Her name is Annie and she likes to jump rope just like me!"

Meeting new people is exciting yet as we get older we tend to become more distant to connecting with new friends. When was the last time you were excited to meet a new person?

Imagine if you came home from work as excited as my friends 6-year-old. “I made a new friend today! His name is ____ and he likes to ___________ just like me!”

Go ahead fill in the blanks, a big part of getting the most out of life is meeting new and exciting people who share your interests.

It's funny, I've been working on an article called "I'm Not Here to Make Friends." I consider myself lucky to be in a field where I meet a lot of new people and it's probably even MORE fun now than when I was a kid. :-)
