Is Your Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

I was struggling to think of what to write today, so I decided to take a walk along the beach! There were boats leaving the Marina, rowing teams practicing, plenty of dogs to play with, and everyone I came across was very friendly as they went about their morning routines. When I got back from my walk I felt energized and was in a great mood to start the day.

I started thinking about the impact that our activities and people can have on our moods. Today I’m in a great mood because I effectively filled my mood glass by doing an activity that energizes me. The other side of this is doing an activity or spending time with a negative person that can drain your mood glass.

We all have things and people in our life that will impact our moods. If these things or people drain your mood you will probably feel empty at the end of the day. If you do things you love or spend time with positive people you’ll probably feel full and energized at the end of the day! Now think about the impact your mood has on the people around you! If your mood glass is full you probably bring great energy to those around you. But if you feel drained you probably don’t have a lot to give back and you may even end up draining their mood!

So is your glass half full or half empty? This weekend consider all the activities you do and the people you spend time with. Do they fill your mood glass or empty it?

If you keep your glass full, you never have to worry whether your glass is half full or half empty!”

My mission is really to come up with personal strategies that help me keep my glass half full (without my cup overfloweth)from the inside out vs. the outside in.
