Are you up for an Adventure?

Earlier this week, I came across an interesting article in the Globe and Mail. “Goodbye husband and career, hello high seas.” The article tells the story of Roz Savage who ditched her career, her husband and her house to row solo across the Atlantic.

“I was stuck in this job, feeling like I was just on a treadmill of having to earn enough money so that I could afford to buy the house that was near enough to my job. It was just like this crazy cycle … And I’d think, you know, we don’t have to do this. … I felt like I wasn’t being true to myself.”

Now, I’m not suggesting people ditch their careers, family and take to the high seas. What struck me about this article was the sudden realization that she was not following the path she saw for her life.

Many of us have things that we have a desire to accomplish. This may not be to row across the Atlantic but you must have a goal that speaks to the spirit of who you are.

So are you up for an adventure?

A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies” – Wilfred Peterson

I really resonate with the idea of following your true life path. Owning your own power and becoming your true self is what I believe we are all here to do.

Thank you for sharing this story Bill.
